Rhenus, a leading logistics operator, has leased warehouse space at the newly established Giovi Logistics Park in Silvano Pietra, located in the south of Milan. Completed on December 22, 2023, this logistics park covers an area of 83,000 square meters and is the inaugural Italian tenant of Garbe Industrial Real Estate Italy. Rhenus has already taken possession of the space, which is expected to be fully operational by the end of February 2024.
The Giovi Logistics Park features eight independent modules, each approximately 10,000 square meters in size. Each module is equipped with areas designated for logistics, offices, and forklift charging stations. Strategically situated along the A7 motorway, the park aims to achieve the Leed Platinum certification, reflecting its commitment to reducing environmental impact, including the regeneration of a disused industrial area. The project was developed in collaboration with Sfo Capital Partners.
Mariangela Conte, Head of Asset Management at Garbe Industrial Real Estate Italy, commented, "The Giovi Logistics Park in Silvano Pietra represents our main development in Italy, alongside other exciting projects we are pursuing". The company, a subsidiary of the German-based Garbe Industrial Real Estate headquartered in Hamburg, has been operating in Italy since 2021. In 2022, it acquired a portfolio of 147,000 square meters of existing logistics properties totaling 150 million euros, including the land in Silvano Pietra.
