On February 7, 2024, real estate developer VGP Italy started construction of the Valsamoggia 2 Logistics Park, in the province of Bologna. The facility will consist of two buildings, with one already assigned to Cei Spa, an Emilian company that has been operating in the spare parts industry for over fifty years. In a statement, VGP expressed its intention to solidify its central role in Emilia-Romagna. The VGP Park Valsamoggia 2, slated for inauguration in 2024, will offer a total covered area of 32,000 square meters, 18,000 of which are allocated to Cei Spa.
The platform will be located one kilometer from its namesake A1 motorway exit and five kilometers from the town of Bologna, surrounded by several industrial plants. VGP aims to achieve the Breeam Excellent environmental certification, supported by a 1.6 Mwp photovoltaic system and 20,000 square meters of green space.
The announcement of the commencement of VGP Park Valsamoggia 2 construction follows the unveiling of VGP Park Parma. Upon completion of these developments, the real estate company will own eight business parks in Italy, four of which are in Emilia (two in Parma and two in Valsamoggia). "Thanks to the collaboration and support of local institutions, we can consider this project a great success that strengthens our presence in the Bologna area and is a crucial component of our broader strategy for growth and development in Italy," stated Agostino Emanuele, Country Manager of VGP Italy.
