On July 18, 2024, Federal Express Corporation opened its first European Life Science Center in Veldhoven, Netherlands. This specialized warehouse spans 1,000 square meters and features four temperature-controlled rooms and freezers with a range from -80°C to +25°C. The facility, holding a Good Distribution Practices (GDP) license, operates around the clock with independent alarm systems for each temperature zone.
This setup ensures the receipt, storage, packaging, and shipping of medical products, providing an end-to-end logistics chain for the pharmaceutical, clinical, and biological industries. In addition to cooling services, the platform offers specialized packaging, proactive monitoring solutions, and value-added services such as labeling and reverse logistics.
Strategically located in the European continent, the Veldhoven center benefits from its position in the innovative Brainport Eindhoven region. This area has recently received a €2.5 billion government investment through the Beethoven Project, aimed at infrastructure, housing, and education, fostering startups in technology and biotech sciences.
“We are pleased to announce that the Veldhoven Life Science Center will also provide high-quality service to healthcare clients in Italy, offering better connections with global facilities and access to over 130 cold chain facilities worldwide," said Carlo Novi, Managing Director EU Global Sales Healthcare Solutions at FedEx. "We are extremely proud of our dedicated customer service team at the center, which will manage both transportation and storage in compliance with service quality agreements and clients' specific temperature-controlled requirements, allowing them to focus on patient needs."
