Iveco showcased two new electric commercial vehicles at the IAA 2024 in Hannover. The first, developed with Hyundai, is called the eMoovy—a light cab chassis with a gross vehicle weight ranging from 2.5 to 3.5 tonnes and a range of up to 320 kilometers. With partial charging, an additional 100 kilometers of range can be added in just ten minutes. The energy storage configurations offer a total capacity of up to 76 kWh. This model is produced by Hyundai and distributed in Europe by Iveco after some customizations.
At the German event, Iveco also presented the S-eWay Rigid, entirely designed by the European manufacturer, including the onboard software. This cab chassis offers a range of up to 400 kilometers and features fast-charging capabilities that can provide 200 kilometers of additional range in less than 45 minutes. The new vehicle is equipped with an FPT Industrial electric axle and offers a total capacity of up to 490 kWh, making it optimal for urban and regional missions.
Iveco is also developing a hydrogen-powered combustion engine, a prototype of which was displayed at IAA 2024. It is based on a 13-liter Xcursor engine developed by FPT Industrial, which also designed the engine for another prototype shown in Hannover. This prototype is intended for heavy-duty applications and features an electric axle along with a range extender system powered by the Cursor 9-liter H2 engine.
