Ceva Logistics will become the first logistics company in Europe to use electric industrial vehicles manufactured by China's Byd. The announcement was made at the IAA 2024 in Hanover, where a Byd Eth8 truck, showcasing Ceva's livery, is currently on display. This vehicle is one of four that Ceva will deploy in the Netherlands for deliveries in 2025. These trucks have a total weight of 19 tons, a range of 250 kilometers, and the capability for fast battery charging.
Alternative fuel and electric vehicles are one of the three main pillars of Ceva’s strategy—owned by Cma Cgm—to achieve its long-term goal of net-zero emissions by 2050. The company is focusing on the adoption of electric trucks, such as those supplied by Byd, to accelerate its decarbonization process. In addition to utilizing sustainable vehicles, Ceva is also enhancing the environmental performance of its approximately 1,000 warehouses worldwide by installing solar panels, LED lighting, and adopting low-carbon energy solutions.
