Laghezza aims to strengthen its presence in the port area of La Spezia by developing a logistics platform on a plot of land it owns in Santo Stefano Magra, a location regarded as the inland port of the Ligurian hub. The facility, covering 6,000 square meters, will be located within the ZLS (Special Logistics Zone). The warehouse will be built using eco-friendly materials and will be energy self-sufficient. The inauguration of the new facility is scheduled for early 2025.
In addition to the investment in La Spezia, on October 1, 2024, Laghezza announced a second strategic project in Tortona, Piedmont. While technical details are still being finalized, the company has revealed that this new operation will be carried out in close collaboration with M&P, a subsidiary of the group, specializing in container transport, general cargo, and isotank services. This new logistics hub will further enhance the company's operational capacity, catering to the demands of a continuously growing and diversifying market.
Laghezza is also investing in transport equipment. In August, the company acquired twelve industrial container trucks, strengthening the fleet, including those of M&P. In terms of training, the company launched two customs training courses in early September, an area where Laghezza increased revenues by ten percent in the first half of 2024.
