Connected trailers are set to become the new standard in the industrial vehicle sector. Chereau, in collaboration with BPW, has unveiled the new SmartTrailer vehicles, equipped with Idea Telematics technology, offering advanced real-time data management capabilities. Remote diagnostics, tracking, tire pressure monitoring, and maintenance information will all come standard on the new Chereau refrigerated trailers, providing an unprecedented added value for fleet management.
Starting in 2025, all new Chereau SmartTrailers will be equipped with a central control unit (TC Trailer Gateway) developed by Idem Telematics, part of the BPW Group. This unit will continuously record crucial data such as vehicle status, position, and driver behavior, transmitting it in real time to the Cargofleet 3 telematics portal. This portal provides a comprehensive overview of vehicles and their operational data, allowing fleet managers to monitor and optimize operations more effectively.
Thanks to its open architecture, the telematics solution offered by Chereau and Idem Telematics integrates easily with other existing management systems, making it possible to manage mixed fleets. The data preparation has been designed to adapt to specific user needs, making the information accessible not only to fleet managers but also to drivers, recipients, and subcontractors directly on smartphones, tablets, and other devices.
