Ravenna truck park project stalls
The truck park project serving the Port of Ravenna has entered a stalemate. Planned for the Bassette North area, covering 101,000 square meters, the facility was to include 199 truck parking spaces, a hotel, and various services for truck drivers. The total investment, estimated at €21.75 million, was supposed to be funded by a private entity selected through a public tender. However, the winning consortium of entrepreneurs from Bolzano and Brescia withdrew due to emerging financial difficulties. As a result, the Port System Authority has decided to sell the area, while maintaining the requirement to establish a truck parking facility. It remains to be seen whether new investors will step in to revitalize the project.
