The two Chinese vehicle manufacturers, Ohm and Foton, both present in Italy, are expanding their range of electric vehicles and developing new collaborations to better address the needs of the Italian market, with a focus on ecological transition and technological innovation. They used the 2024 Ecomondo exhibition as an opportunity to showcase their offerings, with two prominent stands in the pavilion dedicated to industrial vehicles.
Ohm, founded in 2021, has quickly established itself as one of the most innovative players in the light commercial electric vehicle sector. The company stands out for its agile, technologically advanced approach, designing customizable vehicles that cater to specific customer needs. Ohm's production is based on a distributed model using main factories in China, production partners in Europe, and a research and development center in Italy, ensuring rapid distribution at a global level.
The flagship of Ohm's offering is the Ohm 35 Bev, a light electric vehicle with standout features: a range of up to 280 km, a customizable platform, and a load capacity of two tons, with an overall weight of 3.5 tons. This model also benefits from an advanced driver assistance system, reducing driver stress and enhancing road safety through advanced monitoring capabilities.
Foton, for its part, continues to expand in Italy. After two years in the Italian market, the Chinese group has developed a new range of light electric vehicles tailored to local needs, aided by a collaboration with Italy's Dogma Energia to implement custom charging infrastructure. The new range includes a category B license vehicle, ideal for historic city centers, as well as a 7.5-ton model available in three versions, designed without modifications from combustion models and thus entirely conceived for efficient and modern electric mobility.
