On 22 November 2024, Still unveiled three new trailer frames for tugger trains, enhancing its LiftRunner range. Designed to boost efficiency and facilitate automation, the new BX, PE, and PH models can, in some cases, even serve as an alternative to forklifts. The company states that these vehicles help optimise logistical spaces, reduce energy costs, and improve safety by minimising internal traffic and reducing the risk of accidents. Still offers a broad range of solutions, from manual to automated tugger trains, with frames and trolleys designed for diverse load carriers, ensuring ease of use and goods stability.
The BX frame, aimed at production lines, introduces an asymmetric axle and a foldable drawbar, features that enhance stability and manoeuvrability. Capable of towing up to six trailers, with the potential to extend to eight in specific conditions, the BX maintains a compact size, avoiding the need for additional space for turns or loading/unloading. “The new BX frames allow the transported material to be doubled compared to traditional models without increasing the transport volume or the investment in towing vehicles,” explains Sergio Virmilli, Sales Manager Automation at Still Italy, adding that “the ability to rotate 180° in aisles of just 4.50 metres ensures maximum flexibility.”
The PE and PH frames, on the other hand, are designed for automation. Both offer the possibility of loading and unloading from both sides and feature a sliding central column and retractable lifting profiles, making them compatible with autonomous mobile robots (AMR) such as the Still Ach or Axh. The PE is ideal for indoor use, with a load capacity of up to 1,000 kilograms per trailer, while the PH is designed for outdoor applications, supporting up to 1,600 kilograms per trailer, offering robustness, weather protection, and safety lighting. The four-wheel steering ensures stability even in challenging conditions.
