The German freight telematics platform Timocom is expanding into the digital management of industrial vehicle parking through its investment in Aparkado. The announcement, made on 9 January 2025, highlights Timocom’s intention to enhance its services by entering the capital of Aparkado, a start-up that has developed Lkw.App. This advanced digital interface enables real-time monitoring of over 40,000 parking areas across Europe, allowing drivers to quickly locate available parking spaces along their routes.
By investing in Aparkado, Timocom aims to address one of the most pressing challenges faced by truck drivers: the shortage of suitable parking spaces on key European routes. Tim Thiermann, CEO of Timocom, emphasised the significance of this initiative: “With our investment in Aparkado, we are sending a clear message about the future of road transport in Europe. We strongly believe that the sector must evolve not only towards greater efficiency but also towards a more human and sustainable dimension.”
