Mounting pressure on safety, driving time regulations and sustainability in transport operations is prompting more and more companies to invest in advanced technological solutions. In this context comes the introduction of Secure Truck Parking, a new feature created by Webfleet in collaboration with Bosch to ensure the secure parking of commercial vehicles throughout Europe. This feature will be integrated into Webfleet’s telematics system, incorporating both the Bosch Logistics Operating System and Secure Truck Parking.
The new feature enables users to find and book parking areas based on specific operational criteria such as geographic location, available services, remaining driving time and expected stop duration. The system is fully integrated with the carrier’s route and order planning, creating synergy between logistics and regulatory compliance. In this way, fleet-operating companies can not only increase the safety of goods and drivers but also improve their operational efficiency.
The tool provides real-time information on parking availability, allows for quick bookings and cancellations, and sends automatic notifications to drivers. This digital system supports more accurate route planning and helps reduce waiting times and idle periods, with direct benefits in terms of fuel savings and emission reduction. It also complies with requirements for long-haul transport and high-value goods, where secure parking is a critical need.
The service will be available in all European areas where Bosch actively manages industrial vehicle parking facilities. For Webfleet customers with a Nav/Live tariff or higher, the feature is free to use, with parking fees paid directly to Bosch. “With Secure Truck Parking, we are addressing a major challenge for transport companies: finding secure and protected parking for trucks, cargo and drivers,” said Jan-Maarten de Vries, president of Fleet Management Solutions at Bridgestone. “With Bosch, which operates the largest network of secure truck parking facilities, Webfleet is delivering the most comprehensive integration available.”
