In May 2024, the road transport companies Autamarocchi and Lorma Logistic, the latter a subsidiary of the Cosulich Group, established the joint venture AL Steel Transport. This new entity consolidates the two companies' activities in the transportation of steel products. Autamarocchi has been active in the steel transport industry since the early 1990s, catering to significant clients with specialized equipment, such as coil-carrying semi-trailers that can also transport other goods and are suitable for rail and ro-ro ship travel. Roberto Vidoni, Managing Director of Autamarocchi, stated that the project "combines multiple links of the logistics chain with the clear goal of offering dedicated and competitive services."
Vidoni further noted, "Achieving this with the prestigious Cosulich Group, which among its varied activities boasts significant capabilities and expertise in logistics, propels this initiative towards very significant horizons." Lorma Logistic was established in 2011 when the family-owned company Lorma expanded its road transport of containers, bolstered by the integration of the Cosulich Group. Today, it operates a fleet of over a hundred industrial vehicles across Genova, Padova, La Spezia, Rubiera, and the Ambro Terminal at the Marghera Container Terminal.
