Renowned for its expertise in intermodal chemical logistics, the Bertschi Group announced the launch of operations at the Antwerp Zomerweg terminal, strategically located in the heart of Europe’s largest integrated chemical cluster. Designed to accommodate both hazardous and non-hazardous goods transported in tank containers, the facility offers trimodal solutions via rail, barge, and truck.
Spanning over 60,000 square metres, the AZT terminal marks a significant step forward in Bertschi’s logistics offerings. It boasts a storage capacity exceeding 2,500 TEU, with 1,290 slots dedicated to hazardous goods in tank containers. Equipped with advanced safety systems, including fire-resistant zones, redundant firefighting pumps, and a remotely controlled gantry crane, the terminal ensures safe and efficient operations.
Key features of the facility include: four 650-metre-long railway tracks to accommodate full-length trains; integrated trimodal services for seamless movement of goods across maritime, rail, and road transport; ADR-compliant storage authorisations for goods in classes 3, 4.1, 5.1, 5.2, 6.1, 8, and 9; heating services with 60 dedicated slots; high process automation for operational efficiency. The terminal is part of Bertschi’s global network, which includes similar facilities in Rotterdam, Jurong Island in Singapore, and Zhangjiagang in China.
