CMA CGM's latest acquisition of Wincanton, via Ceva Logistics, marks a significant expansion in the group's capabilities. The acquisition has already secured approval from Wincanton’s board, which is advising its shareholders to proceed with the sale. The deal values the British firm at £764.9 million, representing a 52% premium over Wincanton's stock market valuation as of January 18.
This strategic acquisition substantially boosts CMA CGM's land transport and storage operations in the UK and Ireland. Wincanton, boasting nearly a century of experience in various sectors, currently operates around 170 sites, employs approximately 20,300 staff, and manages a fleet of about 8,500 industrial vehicles. Annually, the company handles 520,000 tonnes and 1.3 million TEUs .
