On August 22, 2024, Volvo Trucks announced the signing of this major order, which includes 300 electric trucks and 500 vehicles powered by diesel or liquefied natural gas. This order stands out as one of the largest commercial contracts to date for Volvo's electric trucks, positioning DSV as one of Europe's leading operators of heavy electric truck fleets.
The delivery of the electric vehicles is scheduled to be completed by 2030, as part of a broader strategy to increase DSV's electric fleet to 2,000 units. Meanwhile, the diesel and gas-powered vehicles are expected to be delivered between 2024 and 2026. DSV is already utilizing Volvo electric trucks in Sweden and Denmark, where it has also developed charging infrastructure at its distribution centers, powered by solar panels. This new order includes the Volvo FH Aero Electric model, which features improved aerodynamics, making it even more energy-efficient.
Since 2019, Volvo Trucks has delivered over 3,800 electric trucks across 46 countries, offering the industry's most extensive range of electric products, with eight fully electric models suitable for a wide range of applications, from urban distribution and waste management to regional transport and construction.
