Emirates is entering the express delivery market with the introduction of Emirates Courier Express. Unveiled on 7 April 2025 in Dubai, this new express transport service leverages the carrier’s passenger network to enable direct delivery between origin and final destination, bypassing the multiple intermediate stops typical of the hub-and-spoke model. This translates into shorter transit times, reduced handling of packages and greater reliability for businesses, allowing them to offer a more competitive service to their customers.
The entire Emirates infrastructure supports the new service, including a fleet of more than 250 wide-body passenger and cargo aircraft, an extensive global network and a solid logistics framework. Integration with partners for first and last mile handling, as well as customs procedures, enables Emirates Courier Express to provide door-to-door solutions and manage seasonal demand fluctuations while maintaining cost control.
On the technology front, a dedicated digital platform ensures seamless integration with customers’ IT systems, supporting tailored solutions for diverse logistics needs. Real-time tracking, constant updates and intelligent systems ensure an efficient and transparent workflow from booking to final delivery.
The service goes beyond standard delivery, already capable of handling specialised shipments such as sensitive items, including medical devices and perishable goods thanks to cold chain capabilities, as well as vertical sectors such as fashion and technology. A dedicated team assists clients in designing bespoke logistics solutions, drawing on the expertise and infrastructure of the Emirates group.
The airline explained that Courier Express is the result of a co-creation process with customers. Businesses were involved in every stage of service development, providing feedback, testing solutions and refining processes in a practical, innovation-driven approach. The outcome is a service that has already proven effective during the pilot phase, with thousands of shipments completed in an average of under 48 hours from seven key markets: the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, South Africa and the United Kingdom.
The service is currently active in seven markets, but ambitions are global: wherever the airline flies, Emirates Courier Express will be able to deliver. Expansion is already underway. Dennis Lister, Senior Vice President of Product and Innovation at Emirates SkyCargo, emphasised that “Emirates Courier Express was born from a challenge to the status quo. We saw the growth in international shipping volumes and decided to find a better way to manage them. This launch is proof of our commitment to continuous innovation, providing customers with faster, more reliable and cost-effective solutions.”
