The third and final extraordinary European inspection campaign of the year for trucks and buses will take place in the second week of November 2024, running from Monday the 11th to Sunday the 17th. Traffic police officers across Europe, in collaboration with officials from the European Labour Authority, will conduct thousands of roadside checks, focusing on both driver activities and the technical condition of the vehicles.
During the second campaign, which took place from May 13 to 19, 2024, officers stopped 228,389 trucks and 136,335 buses across 18 European countries that are members of Roadpol, identifying 69,749 violations involving trucks. A total of 2,167 trucks were grounded and allowed to continue their journey only after restoring safe conditions. The most frequent violations included exceeding driving time limits, tachograph tampering, speeding, and issues with cargo, such as overloading or improper securing.
