On August 27, 2024, Ford Trucks officially announced its entry into the Swiss market for commercial vehicles, further solidifying its presence in the region that includes Germany and Austria. This move marks a crucial step in the Turkish manufacturer's European expansion strategy. The Ford Trucks range will be distributed in Switzerland through a collaboration with BF Import, a subsidiary of the Auto AG group, which boasts over a century of experience in the Swiss market. Operations will commence in 2024 with the opening of five sales and service facilities, with plans to expand to over eight locations by the end of 2025.
Among the key products that Ford Trucks will introduce to Switzerland are the F-Max tractor and the new F-Line series, both featuring cutting-edge technologies in connectivity and safety. In addition to its diesel vehicle lineup, Ford Trucks has announced that Switzerland will be one of the first countries to witness the launch of its first electric truck, with mass production scheduled for 2025. Selim Yazıcı, Managing Director of Ford Trucks for the DACH region, stated, "With the start of operations in Switzerland, our European customers can now benefit from the services offered by authorized Ford Trucks centers. Switzerland is at the forefront of the transition towards electrification, with advanced systems in place for electric and hydrogen vehicles and related incentives."
