PSA Italy's the Sech terminal was honored with the PSA Group's HSS Management System by David Yang, the Regional CEO of PSA International for Europe, the Mediterranean, and the Americas, This accolade was awarded as part of the global initiative, Safety Week, organized by the PSA group. During a recent ceremony, David Yang presented the certification to Davide Romanengo, General Manager of PSA Sech. This certification is of significant value to PSA, representing advancement over existing health, safety, and environmental management systems and promoting the internal values of the Group.
Data reveals a significant reduction in incidents at PSA Italy, with an 83% decrease in accidents between 2010 and 2023. This reduction highlights an increase in awareness and a cultural shift towards workplace safety. The group surpassed its 2023 goal for the Lost Time Injury Frequency (LTIF) and has set an even more ambitious target for 2024, These initiatives underscore PSA Italy's commitment to fostering a safe working environment and the continuous training of its workforce, proving that safety is an indispensable value within the Group.
Roberto Ferrari, CEO of PSA Italy, emphasized the importance of this recognition, stating, "Safety is not just a formal issue, but a fundamental value for our Group. It is vital to disseminate this value throughout the company, making it an integral part of the daily life of each employee." David Yang added, "Safety goes beyond the management system; it is a culture that we must instill in every aspect of our work, increasing awareness of our actions".
In a further initiative, the Sech and Genova Pra’ terminals of PSA Italy organized an improvisational theater show on January 17, 2024, at the Teatro della Tosse in Voltri, This event aimed to raise awareness about health and safety at work in an engaging manner, fostering active dialogue between actors and spectators. The event was a collaboration with the LHS Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by Saipem in 2010, and the Social Promotion Association Traattori, which promotes improvisational theater.
