In 2023, the Grendi Group achieved a significant shift in its operational strategy by diversifying its activities and expanding its reach to North Africa with the launch of a new international maritime route. The company concluded the year with a 10% increase in revenue, marking a significant step forward in its business development.
Returning to its roots as a shipowner, the Grendi Group closed the year with a revenue of 98 million euros, representing a 10% increase over the previous year. This achievement stems from careful planning and targeted investments that have strengthened Grendi's market offerings. Enhancements include doubling storage capacity with a new warehouse at the Port of Cagliari and introducing new maritime services.
The new roll-on/roll-off maritime line, connecting the Mito terminal in Cagliari with North Africa, offers a service that leverages the versatility of Grendi's ships to reduce waiting times and enhance the efficiency of loading and unloading operations. Moreover, this service bolsters Cagliari's role as a logistical hub in the Mediterranean, capable of addressing challenges posed by recent geopolitical events, such as difficulties in traversing the Suez Canal.
In parallel, the group has enhanced its intermodal offering by shifting a significant portion of its transport operations from road to rail, aiming to reduce environmental impact and improve transport efficiency. This strategy has yielded remarkable results, removing over 5,000 industrial vehicles from the roads in 2023 alone.
