Kurt Gruber, who headed the South Tyrolean transport and logistics firm Gruber Logistics until ten years ago before passing the leadership to his children, has passed away. The company announced his death on 14 January 2025, stating: “His foresight, integrity towards others, and respect for everyone are values that define our daily work and are evident to all who collaborate with Gruber Logistics. These are principles Kurt Gruber instilled in the many individuals who worked alongside him and which his children continue to uphold.”
Kurt Gruber was the son of Josef Gruber, who founded the company in 1936. Upon taking the helm, Kurt significantly contributed to the firm’s international growth and expertise in logistics. Over the years, Gruber Logistics has remained in the hands of the founding family, achieving an annual turnover of €360 million, employing 1,100 staff, and operating a fleet of 1,500 vehicles. Today, the company’s CEO is Martin Gruber.
