Artificial intelligence is making significant inroads into the transport sector, and the IAA 2024 in Hannover will be a key showcase of this evolution. Among the featured solutions, BPW will debut the Cargofleet Assistant, developed by Idem Telematics in collaboration with b.telligent. This system is designed to simplify and strengthen fleet control, cargo tracking, and vehicle management through integration with Azure OpenAI Service. Essentially, it acts as a virtual assistant using natural language voice and text commands to interact with the Cargofleet 3 telematics platform, making logistics operations smoother and faster.
The system can respond to complex queries in real time. For instance, operators can ask, "Which vehicles need maintenance?" or "Show me the refrigerated vehicles with temperature anomalies," and receive immediate and accurate answers. This significantly reduces the workload associated with repetitive tasks, freeing up more time for personal interactions with customers.
Cargofleet Assistant, built on generative AI technology, not only optimizes logistics management but also ensures a high level of data security and control, leveraging Microsoft Azure technologies. Another key advantage is that the feature will be available to all users of the Cargofleet 3 platform without the need for additional software or hardware investments, with the official launch planned for autumn 2024.
Jens Zeller, CEO of Idem Telematics, highlights the benefits of the Cargofleet Assistant: "In times of skilled labor shortages, the Cargofleet Assistant alleviates the burden of routine tasks for traffic managers. This leaves more time for other activities, such as personal contact with customers." Zeller emphasizes that the new functionality represents a natural progression for Idem Telematics, which has long offered advanced technologies for brake performance monitoring without the need for additional sensors.
