On April 29, 2024, Ignazio Messina & C unveiled the arrival of the Jolly Verde, a container ship boasting a capacity of 6,300 TEU, making it the flagship of the Genoese shipping firm. This vessel marks the first of two sister ships that Ignazio Messina plans to deploy on the Middle East to India route. It will sail under the command of Captain Francesco Scotto di Fasano of Procida, with a crew of 22 mariners, 19 of whom are Italian.
Previously owned by a German company and flying the Portuguese flag, the Jolly Messina's inclusion in the Ignazio Messina & C fleet allows the ship to now bear the Italian flag, thanks to its registration with the Maritime Compartment at the Genoa Port Authority. The container ship measures 283 meters in length, 40 meters in width, and has a gross tonnage of 80,000 tons. The vessel was delivered at the port of Antwerp.
