Eurizon Capital Sgr, the leader of the Asset Management division of Intesa Sanpaolo Group, is now the majority shareholder of the Brescia-based trucking company Germani Trasporti. The acquisition was carried out through funds managed by Eurizon Capital Real Asset Sgr, while other shareholders retain their minority stakes. CEO Mauro Ferrari and Arcese Trasporti have reinvested with a significant share. Gino Braglia and Marcello Zironi, respectively CEO and minority shareholder of Trasporti Vecchi Zironi—a transport company previously acquired by Germani Trasporti—remain part of the shareholder group.
Founded in 1965 by Faustino Ferrari for third-party transportation, Germani Trasporti has experienced various changes in its shareholder structure. The first significant change occurred in 2000, with part of the shares sold to Arcese Trasporti, which has remained a shareholder to this day. In 2008, the Ferrari family sold 70% of the capital to the Wise investment fund, but regained full ownership in 2013, returning the company to its original structure. In 2020, Germani Trasporti fully acquired courier service Vecchi Zironi, incorporating its shareholders into the corporate structure.
Today, Germani Trasporti operates in road and intermodal transport and logistics, with a fleet of over 700 industrial vehicles and 800 containers. The company employs approximately 536 people and is expected to close 2024 with a turnover of around 150 million euros, more than double the 2020 figure (just over 72 million euros).
