On September 20, 2024, Kuehne+Nagel inaugurated a massive 130,000-square-meter logistics hub in Mantua. This platform represents a €350 million investment and stands as Kuehne+Nagel’s largest project ever undertaken for a single client—Adidas. Once fully operational, the hub will create 700 jobs. Strategically located, the facility will serve 19 countries in Southern and Eastern Europe, featuring advanced integration of digital technologies. More than 700 robots and cutting-edge automation systems assist in every logistical process, from inventory management to product distribution, enhancing speed and accuracy.
Spanning an impressive 130,000 square meters, the facility is equipped with 20 kilometers of conveyor belts. Its shuttle system, with 25 storage lanes, has the capacity to handle up to 440,000 units, enabling the hub to process 500,000 units daily across various sales channels—from single e-commerce orders to large wholesale consignments. Real-time monitoring and predictive algorithms allow Kuehne+Nagel to anticipate demand peaks, optimizing workflow management and minimizing errors.
The center has achieved LEED Gold environmental certification. It is powered entirely by renewable energy generated by a photovoltaic system producing 13,555 MWh annually. The facility also features LED lighting systems with automated sensors to optimize energy use. A structured waste management program aims to reduce plastic usage and promote sustainable packaging solutions.
