In China, the largest cargo drone
Chinese aerospace manufacturer Air White Whale has completed the production of the W5000, an unmanned cargo aircraft with a maximum payload capacity of five tons, making it the largest of its kind. The first unit was completed on October 18 in Changzhou, with delivery expected in the second half of 2026. The W5000 has a range of 2,600 kilometers and is powered by a conventional turboprop engine. Representatives from JD.com, China Eastern Airlines Logistics, and China Post attended the launch ceremony, indicating strong interest in this aircraft.
New signatories to the logistics legality protocol
On October 21, the associations Ansi and Fiap signed the Memorandum of Understanding for the legality of logistics contracting, promoted by the Milan Prefecture. The agreement, supported by the Lombardy Region and other institutions, aims to combat labor exploitation and promote transparency by providing incentives to participating operators. With these new signatories, a total of sixteen organizations have now joined the agreement to improve working conditions and ensure legality in the sector. The Prefect thanked the new participants and expressed hope for further expansion of the initiative.
Transport logistic prepares for a record-breaking 2025
Munich will host the next edition of transport logistic from June 2 to 5, 2025, in an exhibition area of 150,000 square meters, larger than the previous event. Demand for the international trade fair dedicated to logistics, mobility, IT, and supply chain management is on the rise. Air Cargo Europe, part of the event, will occupy two halls for the first time, highlighting the growing importance of the air sector.

Delivery of gantry cranes to Bologna Interporto
The delivery of two new gantry cranes for the Interporto Bologna rail terminal has begun. The first beams for the structures, produced by Kuenz, arrived on October 23. The cranes will be installed in the coming months on a 115,000-square-meter yard with five 750-meter tracks, enabling the handling of longer trains. The new terminal is set to open in 2026.
