Man delivers electric truck for Porsche
A new era begins for Man Truck & Bus with the delivery of its first fully electric truck. The 40-ton Man eTgx was delivered to automotive supplier Dräxlmaier Group, which will use it to transport batteries for the Porsche Macan Electric between its site and Porsche's factory in Leipzig, covering a five-kilometer route. The truck, purchased by Business Fleet Services and leased to Spedition Elflein, is the first of three to be delivered by the end of the year.
Restoration of Western Austria line after Flooding
The "flood of the century" severely affected the most important ÖBB railway line, the Western Line between St. Pölten and Vienna. Thanks to the opening of the Tullnerfelderbahn for freight traffic, ÖBB initiated a gradual restoration plan. Since October 10, both lines have reopened, ensuring 75% of freight capacity, which will increase to 85% by October 15 and nearly 100% by November. The New Western Line will be fully operational by December 15, while a temporary closure is planned for 2025 to complete repairs.
New TransFer train Budapest-Zeebrugge
ÖBB Rail Cargo Group has launched a new TransFer service linking Budapest and Zeebrugge, boosting freight flows between Hungary and Belgium. Budapest, with its BILK terminal, becomes a key hub for Southeastern Europe, while Zeebrugge, one of Belgium's main ports, facilitates intermodal transport. The service offers three round trips per week, with rapid and flexible transit times, and supports the transportation of containers and hazardous goods. Maritime links from Zeebrugge are available to various UK destinations.
Meeting on road transport at Brenner Pass

The Renault Trucks plant in Bourg en Bresse celebrates its 60th anniversary. Opened in 1964, the facility specializes in the production of trucks for long-haul transport and construction, and since 2023, it also manufactures electric models. Part of the Volvo Group since 2001, the plant employs around 2,000 people. Railcare and LKAB Malmtrafik sign iron ore transport agreement
Railcare has signed a five-year agreement with LKAB Malmtrafik for iron ore transport from 2025 to 2029, valued at an estimated SEK 70 million per year, totaling SEK 350 million. The deal includes an option to extend the contract for an additional three years, adding a value of SEK 210 million.
