MSC Technology Italy, the technological arm of the MSC Group specialising in freight handling, announced on 4 November 2024 an expansion plan for its high-tech centre at Lingotto in Turin. The initiative involves acquiring an additional 2,000 square metres, which will be added to the existing 9,000 square metres already in place. Simultaneously, the company has launched a recruitment campaign to hire 150 new IT professionals, with a target of reaching a total of 800 employees in the Turin hub by 2025.
Renovation work on the new offices will begin in December 2024, with the aim of making them operational by the first quarter of 2025. In addition to providing a comfortable environment for employees, the expansion will also facilitate the enlargement of the MSC Academy areas, which have so far trained over 110 young people through education and internship programmes, offering them the opportunity to embark on a career in IT and advanced logistics and security technologies.
The recruitment campaign seeks to fill 150 highly specialised roles in the IT sector, including Generative AI Developer, Backend Developer, and Full Stack Developer. These new recruits will join the existing 650 team members, with the goal of increasing the number of projects handled by the Turin hub. “The expansion of our Turin operations reflects the growing importance of IT infrastructure in MSC's business, and we are excited to attract new talent to meet future challenges,” explained Roberto Musumeci, CEO of MSC Technology Italy. “Over these four years, we have achieved challenging goals, and the opportunity to continue this growth represents a strong professional incentive for all of us.”
