The Italiavola website reports that Poste Air Cargo is set to receive two aircraft converted in China from passenger service to cargo. Both are Boeing B737NGs that landed at the Irish airport of Shannon at the end of October 2024, where they will receive their registration. The aircraft are B737-300BCFs, with the first one built in 2006. After several ownership changes, it arrived in Jinan in April 2024 for conversion. The second aircraft, also built in 2006, was moved to Shanghai Pudong in February 2023 for the same process.
The Italian airline has not specified how it plans to utilize these two planes. Currently, Poste Air Cargo operates night flights between eight Italian airports, with additional connections to Israel, Tunisia, and Malta. The company has achieved CEIV Pharma certification for pharmaceutical transportation and saw a 16.8% increase in domestic traffic during the first quarter of 2024. In March, Poste Air Cargo announced a maintenance agreement with Atitech for its fleet, set to last for thirty months.
