On October 29, 2024, Savino Del Bene announced the acquisition of Seabridge Transport, headquartered in Hamburg. The German city, already home to Savino Del Bene's administrative office in the country, will now serve as an operational base, enabling the company to expand its services for its customers. This acquisition not only reinforces Savino Del Bene's position in maritime transport but also establishes a new balance between imports and exports.
According to Andreas Kujawski, Managing Director of Savino Del Bene Germany, Seabridge is an ideal partner to expand the import segment, in which the Hamburg-based company has significant expertise: "In maritime transport, Seabridge excels in imports, while Savino Del Bene is known for exports. We are not only significantly increasing our freight volume by sea but also becoming an even more attractive partner for shipping lines thanks to a new balance between imports and exports."
Seabridge is a strong player in the logistics sector, blending traditional Hanseatic values with internationally developed expertise. With its global network, the German company offers tailored logistics solutions across various sectors, ranging from sea and air freight to supply chain management, food logistics, and e-commerce.
The acquisition coincides with the 125th anniversary of Savino Del Bene's founding in Florence in 1899. With 125 years of experience, the company has established itself as the largest Italian-owned freight forwarder on the global market, boasting a network of over 300 offices and 6,000 employees across five continents. In 2023 alone, Savino Del Bene handled 735,000 TEUs by sea and 87,000 tons by air, achieving a turnover of €2.7 billion.
