At the ongoing Transpotec Logitec 2024 at Fiera Milano Rho, which will continue until May 11, Scania is showcasing two special editions of its V8 tractor, the only eight-cylinder engine remaining in the heavy industrial vehicles sector. The first edition is created by Swedish designer "Svempa" Bergendahl and his right-hand man Jan Richter, inspired by the Frostfire show vehicle. This edition is limited to just 100 units and is split into two batches of fifty each: Fire and Frost.
All Frost vehicles have already been delivered to customers, while the Fire vehicles are still available for order. These feature a 770 HP V8 engine and boast graphics with "fluid, shifting lines," according to a statement from Italscania. The Fire is distinguished from the Frost by a new digital interface for drivers, the Scania Smart Dash, and "the warm, glowing tones of the livery that evoke the fiery passion of V8 drivers."
The second special edition is tricolored, celebrating fifty years of Scania in Italy. Its design "aims to represent the connections and pulsations evoked not only by the engine's rumble but also by the energy of the people." This vehicle is equipped with a 660 HP V8 engine. The livery also features the temporal marking 1974-2024. Italscania notes that the first Scania industrial vehicle was officially registered in Italy on June 28, 1974.
