Shipping Agencies Services, a subsidiary of the MSC Group, has finalized a deal to acquire a 42.06% stake in the French logistics and freight forwarding company Clasquin, for an approximate sum of 330 million euros. The agreement, reached on March 21, 2024, follows an announcement in December 2023 about exclusive negotiations to acquire a minority share in Clasquin. The stake was purchased from Yves Revol and Olymp at the stated price, marking the initial phase of a broader strategy. Shipping Agencies Services plans to propose an offer for the remaining shares of Clasquin by the end of 2024, aiming to consolidate its investment.
Based in Lyon, Clasquin is an international freight forwarder with a strong global presence, including twenty-two offices across the Asia Pacific region. The company has recently expanded its operations into the Middle East and Africa. In 2022, Clasquin strengthened its position by acquiring major stakes in Senegal's CVL International and France's Exaciel. Offering a comprehensive suite of services, Clasquin specializes in air, sea, and rail freight forwarding, along with logistics, customs procedures, and risk management solutions.
