Hylane certifies hydrogen trucks
Hylane has announced the issuance of verified CO2 certificates for its rented hydrogen-powered trucks. Verified by Dekra, the certificates include emissions data during vehicle operation as well as those generated from the production and supply of hydrogen. These documents provide full transparency regarding CO2 reductions. Based on real, collected, and verified data, the certificates comply with the CSRD directive and help clients make their emissions visible. “This information is essential for decarbonising transport,” stated Peter Paul Ruschin of Dekra, highlighting Hylane’s pivotal role in the sector.
InRail gains safety certification in France
InRail, a private Italian rail operator active in Slovenia and Croatia, has secured an extension of its Safety Certificate to operate in France. The green light from the European Union Agency for Railways (ERA) was granted on 6 December, strengthening the company’s strategic position along the Mediterranean Corridor. With an operational hub in Udine, InRail aims to link Eastern and Western Europe with its own locomotives and personnel.
Hhla digitises truck access in Hamburg
This week, truck access to the terminals of Hamburger Hafen und Logistik (Hhla) at the Port of Hamburg has become fully digitised via the passify app. The new solution replaces the traditional driver’s card, enhancing both security and process efficiency. Since the start of the year, over 200,000 truck arrivals have been managed through passify at the city’s three terminals: Altenwerder, Burchardkai, and Tollerort. The app enables drivers to book time slots, perform digital check-ins, and authenticate themselves using two-factor systems, adhering to top safety standards. Developed by Hhla Next, passify is already in use in Romania, with further international expansions planned.
Develhope and Amazon launch logistics scholarships
Develhope, an Italian tech school, in partnership with Amazon, is offering 20 scholarships for NEETs (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) aged 18–25 and residing in Southern Italy. The full-time, 13-week online course includes a one-week hands-on field experience, training participants in supply chain and logistics – highly sought-after skills in today’s job market. Topics covered include warehouse management, transportation, and sustainability. Upon completion, participants will receive a certification to enhance their CVs. Construction begins on Saginara Tunnel on the Salerno-Reggio Calabria line
The assembly of the first of four tunnel boring machines (TBMs) for the Saginara Tunnel, part of the Battipaglia-Romagnano section of the high-speed rail line on the Salerno-Reggio Calabria corridor, is underway. Meanwhile, a €35 million investment financed by the NRRP has been awarded for the design and implementation of essential ACCM interventions required for ERTMS, the most advanced railway control system. By 2026, the completion of this section will cut travel times between Battipaglia and Potenza, boosting connectivity with the Adriatic corridor.
