On November 11, 2024, Ceresio Investors announced the sale of Sifte Berti to Swiss logistics company Planzer, which expands its transport and logistics activities in Italy by acquiring seven facilities (Lainate, Vercelli, Rome, Padua, Florence, Civitanova Marche, and Caserta), 200,000 square meters of warehouse space, and a fleet of about forty industrial vehicles. In addition to domestic and international road transport, including ADR (dangerous goods) services, Sifte Berti offers combined road-rail transport, air and sea freight forwarding, and customs services. In 2023, Sifte Berti generated over 29 million euros in revenue and employs 150 people.
Founded in 1936, Planzer operates in transport—primarily intermodal—and logistics, with a network of 72 locations across Switzerland (62 branches), Italy, Liechtenstein, Germany, France, and Hong Kong. The Swiss company employs over 6,500 people, including 400 apprentices. The Italian branch reported revenues of around 18.5 million euros in 2022. In the sale transaction, the Berti family was assisted by Ceresio Investor as financial advisor. The parties did not disclose the transaction amount.
