On 17 March 2025, the container ship Vento di Levante docked at the port of Barcelona, after calling at Genoa on 14 March and La Spezia on 13 March. This event marks the return of the Tarros Group to the Italy-Spain route after twenty years, a service that will feature weekly stops in collaboration with the maritime agency Insignia Shipping. The Spanish port has been included in the Gps West service, which also calls at Casablanca, Leixoes, Setubal, and Marseille. The vessel departs from La Spezia on Saturdays and arrives in Barcelona on Mondays.
On the occasion of its arrival in Barcelona, Danilo Ricci, General Director of the Tarros Group, emphasised that this development is part of a broader project to revise and reorganise the company’s managed routes. The Tarros Group also announced that it will acquire two vessels, which will enter service in 2027, complementing the currently chartered ships. This initiative is also aimed at handling an anticipated 15% growth in volumes for 2025.
For the current year, Tarros plans to add a second Spanish port, enhance services in the Black Sea (currently operated by third parties), and appoint an agent in Germany. In February, the company launched a rail connection between the Terminal del Golfo in La Spezia and the Interporto di Padova, with three weekly departures.
