Agreement between FS and Port of Genoa
A memorandum of understanding has been signed between FS Group's Logistics Hub and the Western Ligurian Sea Port Authority to achieve digital integration of technological systems. The aim is to improve the quality and efficiency of rail transport services between the ports of Genoa and Savona-Vado by facilitating computerised data exchange for operational and commercial processes. The integration will enhance the management of rail operations, thereby increasing the competitiveness of intermodal transport to the main Ligurian ports.

Semmering Base Tunnel Excavations Completed
The excavation of the two tunnels for the future Semmering Base Tunnel, a key infrastructure project aimed at improving the connection between Graz and Vienna in Austria, has officially been completed. In the coming months, the inner concrete lining will be finished, followed by the installation of the tunnel's technical equipment, according to ÖBB, the Austrian rail company. So far, 45 of the approximately 55 kilometres of tunnels have been covered. The tunnel is expected to open for traffic in 2030.
Maersk Orders Twenty Container Ships
Maersk's fleet renewal programme has taken a major step forward with the announcement of an order for twenty container ships. The orders, placed at three Chinese and South Korean shipyards, will complete the fleet renewal project, with vessel delivery scheduled between 2028 and 2030. Last August, Maersk revealed plans to acquire an additional 800,000 TEU of shipping capacity through a mix of owned ships and long-term charter contracts. Maersk has stated that it has finalised these charter agreements for approximately 500,000 TEU, which will progressively replace the existing capacity.
Logicor Acquires Warehouse in Lodi
Logicor and Kryalos Sgr have acquired a new warehouse in Sordio, in the Lodi area, near Milan. The property, previously managed by the Mazer fund, covers an area of 23,000 square metres, of which 10,000 are dedicated to warehousing and 1,500 to offices. The area also includes over 3,700 square metres of green space, with a planting project to reduce environmental impact. The strategic location of the warehouse, situated close to Via Emilia and near the A1 and A58 motorways, provides easy access to Milan and the Linate and Orio al Serio airports. Logicor intends to enhance the energy efficiency of the property by installing photovoltaic panels and charging stations for electric vehicles.

Cosco Shipping has unveiled its new product, Nordic Fish Express, in Rotterdam, aimed at providing greater flexibility and customised services for Nordic seafood market clients exporting refrigerated goods to Asia. The service connects key Nordic ports such as Sortland, Ålesund, Måløy, Bergen, Haugesund (Norway), Grangemouth (UK), Velsen and Rotterdam (Netherlands), ensuring the efficient transport of frozen seafood with modern reefer equipment.
