UPS's Healthcare division, which specializes in healthcare logistics and the transportation of pharmaceutical products, is bolstering its cold chain in Italy, France, the Netherlands, and Hungary. This investment of over twenty million euros will enable the acquisition of approximately two hundred commercial vehicles equipped with temperature-controlled compartments. These new vehicles will join the existing fleet of 1,100 already operating in UPS's cold chain logistics, supporting both last-mile deliveries and long-haul transportation. The dual-temperature vehicles, maintaining ranges between 2 to 8 degrees and 15 to 25 degrees Celsius, are intended for deliveries to wholesalers, hospitals, and pharmacies.
UPS Healthcare's global healthcare distribution network expanded its logistics platforms to over 1.7 million square meters in 2023, doubling its warehouse space compared to 2020. Through the acquisitions of Bomi Group, MNX, and Chabas Santé, UPS Healthcare has enhanced its end-to-end cold chain capabilities, allowing clients to access new markets with greater flexibility.
